Amy A. Mericle, PhD (Principal Investigator) is a Scientist at the Alcohol Research Group (ARG) within the Public Health Institute. As a health services researcher, she focuses on highlighting the gaps in the substance abuse treatment delivery system and examining innovative approaches to increase access to and improve the quality and availability of substance abuse services as well as to promote long-term recovery from substance abuse.
Rebecca de Guzman, PhD (Qualitative Interviewer/Analyst) is an Associate Scientist at the Alcohol Research Group (ARG) within the Public Health Institute. Her research focuses on how racism, poverty, gender, and sexual dominance shape access to HIV/AIDS care and related services.
Karen Trocki, PhD (Study Mentor) is a Senior Scientist at the Alcohol Research Group (ARG) within the Public Health Institute. Her research focuses in substance use and sexual risk behavior, alcohol and religion, drinking environments, social motivations and norms, temperament and psychophysiological approaches to treatment.
